Dark

The characters in this cartoon that are shaded are the ones that are the victims of the Holocaust.  They are shaded to help show the dark nature of their situation.  The characters that are not shaded in seem to have more power, and more emphasis.  The dark shade makes the victime seem to almost disappear.   If the visuals did not accompany the words in the cartoon, the message, and the story would be lost in translation.  The entire story would be nothing more than a confusing mess of words.  The images truly emphasize the dark nature of the cartoon by seemingly eliminating the victims, and giving the non shaded characters a large amount of power.  The text accompanies the pictures by showing the difficult situation that the characters find themselves in.

Pictures are worth 1,000 words

If you had one chance left.  If you had to choose one person that was going to save human kind who would it be?  Superman? Batman? I would chose Halo's Master Chief.  This picture of Master Chief embodies his personality.  He is a soft spoken hero who will prevail at all costs.  In the picture, detail is used to explain the game.  In the background you can see a set of human eyes that are watching the Master Chief.  This speaks for the fact that the eyes are a portal to the soul.  The eyes look pain filled yet hopeful for salvation.  All of mankind's eyes are set on the hero and watch his every move.  Master Chief's posture suggests that he is ready for the challenge.  As he looks at the ruined city he seems confident.  His stance even suggests that he is a bit cocky.  None the less he looks like someone who is ready to save the day.  Another story that this picture tells is a story of hope.  Close to the Master Chief it is dark and gloomy, but in the background there is a rising sun.  It looks as though a new day is dawning and that a bright new era is about to be upon human kind.  This advertisement makes the viewer have a sense of comfort yet a longing to play along with their favorite character.  I believe that if you explained the story  anymore it would take a bit of excitement out of the game.  This picture leaves the viewer with just enough information to keep them on the edge of their seat in anticipation to play.
